Altrincham have won the race to sign Manchester United U21's defender Sonny Aljofree on loan, as confirmed via a statement on the club's website.
The 19-year-old is highly rated at Old Trafford and has opted to link-up with the National League side on loan for the remainder of the 2023/24 campaign.
Aljofree has made ten appearances in the Premier League 2 for the Red Devils so far this season and has also made two additional appearances in the EFL Trophy earlier in the campaign.
Following news of his arrival, manager Phil Parkinson told the club's website...
“I'm really pleased to have secured Sonny on loan until the end of the season. It was an easy decision for me to act on Manchester United's interest to trust us with another one of their young players.
"He'll provide cover and competition for Coops with James being out for the rest of the season. He's a fantastic person and a player I'm really looking forward to working with again”

Altrincham are a terrific club for a young player to develop and likewise the defender will add an improvement of quality at the back for Alty.
With the club continuing to push for a playoff place this season, the arrival of a player like Aljofree will only strengthen their quest in my opinion.
