Shots Trigger Option In Star Man's Contract

Aldershot Town have confirmed the news that they have triggered the one-year contract extension within the contract of forward Lorent Tolaj, via a statement on the club's website.

The talented forward has been one of the National League's star players so far this season, but despite multiple interest from clubs in the EFL, Tolaj will instead be staying with the National League side until June 2025.

Tolaj has made 35 appearances for Aldershot Town so far this season, scoring 20 goals and played a crucial role in the Shots' FA Cup run that saw them defeat both Swindon Town and Stockport County of League Two.

The option within Tolaj's contract was automatically triggered after the forward started his 25th match of the season for Tommy Widdrington's side.

Following news of his contract extension, Tolaj told the club's website...

“I’m happy to stay, I feel like I’m not finished with Aldershot just yet.”

“I’m happy here and really enjoying my football. I’m looking forward to finishing the season strong and to score as many goals as I can to help the team.”

Writer's Opinion

Tolaj has been without a doubt one of the best players in the National League so far this season and has now extended his stay until June 2025, much to the delight of the football club.

His aim now will be to continue his flying form for the Shots and secure them a play-off place in the division this season, taking them closer to an EFL return.
